I developed Alopecia Universalis at just 9 y/o, and after long years of treatments and all, my hair finally grew back during puberty. By 19, I had a full head of healthy hair. I still dealt with occasional patches using injections, but now, as an adult, I've lost all my hair again (ALOPECIA TOTALIS), and since injections aren't an option anymore, Ive started this DCPC treatment. We've found a manageable dose, but I'm still struggling with oozing and long sleepless nights after the application. Any advice on coping mechanisms?

For the oozing and discomfort, I find that cool compresses or just letting the area air dry as much as possible helps a lot. Super loose, breathable cotton headwear if you need to cover up.

As for those sleepless nights, it's tricky. Have you talked to your derm about this?

The most important thing is to keep documenting everything – how bad the oozing is, how much sleep you lose. That data is gold for your dermatologist to figure out if the dose needs another tweak or if there are other short-term things they can give you to manage the discomfort. Hang in there!

Isn't it frustrating how harsh the side effects can be, yet treatment options for conditions like Totalis are still so limited? Why isn't there more focus on improving comfort and quality of life during treatment?
