I've been sitting with the idea for a while now, going back and forth between trying to cover it up and just letting go but yesteray, I finally did it! and not even gonna lie, there was a weird mix of relief and nerves while doing it because part of me felt like I was giving up the fight, but honestly? it also felt like taking the power back. No more obsessing over patches, no more mirror checks, no more hats unless I actually really want to wear them.

It's still sinking in though, but I feel lighter already
So for anyone else out there thinking about taking this step, I get how big it feels. It's not "just hair," even if people say it is but you need to see that there's also something incredibly freeing about facing the mirror and seeing you without the constant covering up.
And just you know, you are beautiful!

Wow, that's truly inspiring! I really appreciate you sharing your journey. Deciding to stop hiding and embrace who you really are takes a ton of courage. It's about so much more than just hair,it's about reclaiming your confidence and shedding the stress that comes from keeping up appearances. I'm curious, how has your mindset shifted since you made that change?

Powerful post, @Bernie.F . And @BoldAndBare asks a great question. It's a tale as old as time, that moment you stop fighting a battle you can't win and find peace instead. The mindset shift is often about realizing you've put down a heavy bag you carried all day without knowing it.

This is powerful and real talk, what you did takes guts most people don't have. Letting go isn't giving up; it's choosing peace over panic. That's not weakness, it's the strongest flex there is.
